Marjolein van der Meer (1986, NL) is a performance and vocal artist, curator, sound artist and musician, working in different contexts. She holds a degree in spoken word of the drama department of the Royal Conservatory of Antwerp and a BA in Theatre Studies. In 2023, she finished a second Master in Theater at the Toneelacademie in Maastricht, NL. She has written, performed and directed for Frascati and De Brakke Grond in Amsterdam (NL) Theater Rotterdam (NL) Poetry International (NL) Hongerige Wolf (NL), De Grote Post (BE), Kunstencentrum BUDA (BE) and Fresh AIR Berlin (DE). Apart from her artistic practice she has been active as a founding and working member of platforms, art spaces, galleries, magazines, radio stations and cultural projects. She is currently responsible for curating and coördinating the context program of Huis Marseille, the photography museum in Amsterdam. In 2026, she founded OKOK Gallery in Berlin, together with Wendy Chang. Her sound documentaries and travelogues have been broadcast by national media in The Netherlands.
